Moving into your own place is a very exciting time. A little scary as well. Making your apartment your own just takes a little time and some creativity.
There are a lot of apartments for rent out there. The first step to new found independence is finding just the right place. Once the right place is found, putting your own flare on it is another story. This is the fun part. Picking out colors, buying new furniture, deciding where everything belongs, are all decisions that make an apartment your home.
1. Bare walls come alive with the story of the tenant. Choose wall art that reflects who you are. Perhaps decorating with your own photography or pictures of you and your family will help make your space personal.
2. All aspects of the renter’s space tell something about that person. A person who wants a lot of privacy and does not wish to be entertaining all the time will choose a space that is out of the way, not very inviting, but just right for them. Others may choose a wide open space with lots of room for conversation and entertaining.
3. The best part is that this is the time to make your space all about you. Decide what colors make you happy. Pick furniture that you find comfortable, that also appeals to your senses. Get your garden on in whatever space you have outside; landscape your space to fit you. Being happy with the choices you have made will make your living space the home you want and need.
